David O. Charland, P.E. - Chairman
Mr. Charland has more than forty-four years experience in the
design of multi-use facilities, hotels and resorts, municipal
buildings, office buildings, high-rise buildings, recreational
facilities, aviation facilities, libraries, correction centers,
heavy marine, roads, bridges, building restoration, industrial
plants, parking garages, and practically all types of structures
encountered in the field of structural engineering.
He has been a member of the Structural Committee of the Broward
County Board of Rules and Appeals since 1976, a past member
of the Structural Committee of the Broward County Board of
Rules and Appeals, and was a key member of the Department
of Community Affairs Hurricane Andrew Damage Assessment Team.
Mr. Charland is Chairman of the Board of Jenkins and Charland,
with offices in Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Fort Pierce,
Sarasota and Tampa, Florida, and Atlanta, GA.
In addition to design experience, Mr. Charland has established
and implemented a quality assurance monitoring program to
insure the highest standards of quality engineering are maintained
throughout the firm.
In April 2005, Mr. Charland was appointed by Florida Governor
Jeb Bush to serve a 4-year term on the eleven-member Florida
Board of Professional Engineers.
